You have to understand that Jaehyuk already wants to marry Garam. And in a marriage your partner should be a priority above your family (wives above mothers, within reason). If Garam didn't take issue with his job, he wouldn't have quit. And if Garam wasn't so scared of Jaehyuk's parents, he wouldn't have cut contact.
What did he want Jaehyuk to do? Just let him stew? Feel resentful if he continued the job? Let him feel very conscious of his kinda out if bounds mother?
I hope Garam begs Jaehyuk and I hope Jaehyuk actually hold his ground until he's sure Garam won't pull shit like this again.
