Why is it a uh... genre convention, where the bottom is overly sensitive but the top keeps going while the bottom says "stop" (but contrarily feels good)? Why not make the bottom enthusiastic/more willing, if supposedly this feels good?
I get that for some ppl the appeal of bodice ripper style stuff is that you get pleasure while maintaining "purity" since youre being acted upon, and BL is downstream of women's sexual interests projected onto men, but still it seems so crazy to me that a bottom who doesnt resist at all is uncommon

unfortunately it does seem to be a staple… in most stories we’re just meant to accept that the bottom probably likes it even though the couples never discuss boundaries… i guess the general view of men/tops is that they’re pushy and horny and take what they want and it’s meant(??) to be hot(??)

Yeah that bothers me too, that's way too common. An active enthusiatic participant is way more fun... might be alright to include every now and then but it's in almost every story and kinda sucks

Yeah like i get ppl might be into light dom/sub stuff, and i dont mind it sometimes, but idk.. feels like an effect of rape culture/patriarchical norms

And anyway isnt it sexier when the bottom is really in to it??

Having someone who wants you that much even if youre not(?) into it. The desire to be desired??

Yeah sure there can be a desire to be desired? That's not canceled out by stoping if a person says stop or wants a break due to being overwhelmed? I mean being that desired could also be portrayed as turn-on but it's not portrayed like that.
I would say a big part of sex is both people being into it? Jigu even thinks about that before

Also many mangas blur a lot into the top just getting what he wants not being so into the other person.
Furthermore I think it's well known BL/Yaoi has a problem with downplaying rape. Which can work in some genres but is pretty unneccessary in a lot of stories.

Well anyway I got carried away^^' Point is I don't enjoy that 'trope', I think it doesn't really fit in this story or is portrayed slighly off and I really agree with the comments before
