Credit to the artist for being able to convey such intense emotions through just the eyes alone. Not the best art by any means, but the eyes always draw me back to this series.
This is also the only yaoi... No, the only manga I've ever read with multiple choice endings. I will be a little disappointed if I finish reading this here,& find out they only uploaded 1 of 3 endings.
Look. Am I saying this is the best story in the world? No, especially with the prevalence of graphic sa scenes.
However, the author attempted deeply interesting (and fucked up) dynamics and I applaud them on that. The amount of gaslighting the mc went through makes the ending entirely understandable. He cannot see himself as deserving someone "normal" and his only solace becomes being miserable in a duo with his abuser. Maybe it felt to other readers like we were "walking in circles" to end up in the same place but the end point is slightly different in motivation in a significant way. His abuser is not getting away with it: they will be unhappy together bc this is the only equilibrium they can find after everything. They are not staying together out of pure love and devotion, far from it.
I disliked the visual fetishization of sa present throughout the story (all those graphic scenes sold as smut) but that's the author's prerogative ig. Sex sells and they did get success out of it. I think it cheapened the overall themes of the story but we are on here reading erotica so it is what is.
