Basically he has dealt with a lot of guilt because he left his mom to be with the girl he liked. But he also only did so because his mom was pressuring him so so much from childhood due to neglect from his father. He loved his parents despite knowing that they were a bit fucked up. at the end of the day he is left emotionally scarred as a kid due to the mistakes of grown adults. and when weirdo ass nina got injured it felt like the world cemented that he was a piece of shit and didn’t deserve to live. So that’s the guilt that he has felt towards the pedophilic ass woman and her fuck ass daughter.

Okay so fast forward to the present, bro remembers that bro had a crush from way back when and wanted to see her again. Bro thought that if she knew he was as fucked up as he was, she would run away from him. So bro hid it all and acted like a piece of ass because bro has issues with love and being betrayed by those he loved (his parents).

yk what this whole story wouldn’t happen if his father was nice to his mother. If his fuck ass father actually truly loved his mother. Maybe we would’ve gotten to the ending wayyyy sooner
