99% sure it's BL, historical. ML is an emperor/duke/someone with a higher title than MC. I only remember during the chasing arc, ML found MC at an inn. They spent the night together. In the morning, MC wrote a note saying he won't be running away from ML anymore and then left for somewhere. But the note fell under the table so ML didn't see it, he assumed MC ran away and got angry. I don't remember anything else about the story.
