    no, I think it's an important knowledge, sexual assault is not equal rape, sexual assault is a combination of any sexual abuses, any form of sexual contact without a consent (kissing, touching, penetration, etc.), and rape is one of form of abuses, as it's a forced sexual penetration

    I'm coming from a Canadian criminology background. "Rape" is not a legal or medical term in most places, though some counties may still use the term. The actual term used in most medical and the legal systems globally is sexual assault, and as you pointed out, SA can include many different actions. "Rape" is a form of sexual assault. Overall, SA is the official umbrella term for any nonconsentual sexual contact or sexually violent behaviour. So, no need to argue semantics or be rude in the comment section, especially when you don't have the facts. :)
