What's his problem? He's told not to do something, and this idiot does it anyway. He can clearly see that "Emma" is not the Emma he knows, but he's so stubborn that he doesn't want to accept it. He is weak, stubborn, and a burden to the people he meets or will meet. I've read stories about idiotic MCs, but this is on another level!
