i was saying that fully based off memory, maybe i got it confused with that other popular garbage ancient egypt comic? i also haven't caught up to where i left off either. i think i stopped reading shortly after they dealt with the corpse army or something?? and got back home maybe????
i haven't noticed anything egregiously bad yet! (but tbh i also don't know a lot abt what's offensive in terms of egyptian culture and history) i am always scared when brown people are depicted in romance media bc there's a lot of tropes based in racism. so far it doesn't seem like this story is falling into that, but maybe my love for his beautiful appearance is clouding my judgment
i will say, it does give white savior vibes. i'm looking out for how they handle that. i'm also looking out for how they're representing ancient medicine and knowledge, but for me to accurately say whether or not things are racist or offensive, i would have to do research into the topic. which i think i'm going to try to do!
