I don’t think he forgot. I just think he’s numb after disregarding his feelings for years in order to survive. Although he has low expectations for people he also yearns for more. He wants to be accepted and loved but he’s afraid of rejection and betrayal. He loves Tei the most and so he fears Tei’s rejection the most. It also doesn’t help that Tei isn’t the best communicator leading to many misunderstandings lol
It will be fairly interesting to see when Shuraka will recall that Tei hasn't just been sitting at home.
The poor boy is so used to those around him being afraid of him....(especially if he is covered in blood )
He hasn't thought of the fact that Tei is a warrior himself. He has likely seen far worse...hence the look he gives rather than that of fear...nearly pity or remorse.
As something has occurred that he couldnt help or shield Shuraka from himself.
Something he not only feels responsible for in his duties. But being he was born and raised to fight...im sure Tei has seen his fair share of similar situations before if not potentially worse.
