I don't follow the author/artist on twitter, but I've seen around that they felt pressured to do this pairing, when initially it was supposed to be a more rate E otome like concept where there would be multiple characters for the MC to F***. I feel like, if the author so chooses, this side story is an excellent way to feed us Little AxKendrick fans one last time before jumping into the new season and putting the story back on track for a more harem-esque sort of plot.
I look forward to seeing more from this author and I can't wait to finally finish paying off grad school so I can read this through official means and support them that way!
