It makes a lot of sense when we consider that little A is basically a wild animal, and is stacked thicker than the 3rd little pigs brick house. Pair that with him not being able to actually understand how to be gentle, and it just really makes sense.
Unfortunately, there are IRL rape victims who have had this same outcome, and I actually think it is a good thing for the real types of injuries that can and do occur from rape to be represented.

That's a fair feeling to have on it! I will say, him initially being raped by little A wasn't really romanticized. Fetishized? Absolutely.
The reason I say that, is when you look back at Kendricks reactions, it was fear and dread illustrated on his face. He became dependent on lil a for food and warmth (body heat warmth), and even with lil a's lack of comprehension, he was trying his best to keep Kendrick alive.
As for Kendrick, and this is where rape actually does get tricky, he as the victim is allowed to decide if he personally felt harmed by little A, even if little A actually physically harmed him. Basically, victims of rape get to decide if they were victims, no matter anyone else's opinions, with the exceptions of individuals with cognitive disabilities that affect their abilities to consent, and children.
Also, not trying to sway your opinion any which way! Just explaining my own thoughts and feelings, since I was a victim of rape.
