First of all the food doesn't go away. It's a tradition as the female lead has said it. To respect the dead ones and give them something to eat in the afterlife.
They did "share"? The food seems to still be there and they have enough money to buy more if it isn't anyway.

She told him who she is because he figured it out himself anyway. He knew she isn't the sounds body or just the girl she claims to be.

You could say she could lie and say she's the girl but then the guy would just get suspicious of her. Then they'd have to live under annoying consequences. Additionally, there was no harm done in telling him. Maybe only that he is inside a novel but even that could be argued to have been necessary.
