What I get was that it didn't occur to the top to 'scout the demon as his lover(talent)' so he tried to make him an idol and then a escort because that would beneficial to the demon, but in summary the top wasn't happy with those options but he didn't realize he was also in love, so the only thing he could do was watch the demon with his clients or being his driver. Such a slow top.
