Yeah, Reed is Terry’s 100th self. There’s a reason why Terry in ch129 is 117th Terry. He was basically caught/defeated and tortured for 16 more lives after 100th. Unbeknownst to both him and MC, she saved him from that prison of being tortured.

It seems Reid/Theslid was imprisoned by five powerful people (heroes) after he gave into evil in the 100th round. They imprisoned him in the abyss and his life was used to keep the world going for 16 more regressions. They must have known the truth that without Terry’s continuous death and regression, the world will not go on since his very existence sustains the world. Anyway, when Ally goes to get the disc, someone died after she retrieved it. That someone was the imprisoned Reid/Terry.

So then, Terry regresses and, if I understand it correctly, possesses 17th round Terry. I think it corresponds with the time Ally found the Terry who had to relearn how to speak and communicate by reading books. Like he was a blank slate at first then eventually began to regain himself. Remember he also had to regain his skills and power. Apparently that’s because during his imprisonment in the abyss, he was forced to drink this water that has the side effect of deteriorating his mind and creates illusions and memory loss.
