I think the only time it causes damage is when people get the piercing on the tip of their tongue or they continuously play with it with their teeth like biting it. A lot of people will play with it by pulling it with their teeth and that causes damage. Some people get the tip of their tongue pierced instead of the "classic" tongue piercing and that causes damage cuz its constantly making contact with their teeth

i've had mine for about 3 years and havent had a single problem.Just dont play with it between your teeth as that could actually lead to damage
okay okay perf im not planning on it but im so fucking glad bc EVERYONE all they do is tell me bad things but i really want one n i alr have like 18+ piercings so i dont rlly think ill like play w it yk? but also side question if i wore a rubber like jewelry in it would that be better or worse than metal (once its fully healed obviously)
Definitely better so even if ya play with it, there not really an opportunity for damage. You can get big ass packs of multicolored ones off amazon so you have a lot of options. I would just prepare for swelling cuz thats a part of the healing process that can suck. soft foods and nothing that would be too irritating for an open wound
I would talk to your dentist if you can because I think it depends on your anatomy. But also the longer you have it the more chances of getting damage, even if it only happens once you can’t un-chip your teeth.
