She should’ve just been gay

I don’t appreciate the queer baiting at all, it was very obvious Melisa would never love Yuri and it felt gimmicky. Meanwhile the relationship between Melisa and Yuri had a more life like quality than her stagnant one with Nine.

I like Nine but his relationship with Melisa felt too subservient and master like, and honestly fell incredibly flat to me. She saves him and he immediately has a huge crush on her and will do anything for her. I don’t feel like they had enough time to genuinely grow a relationship due to shared experiences, rather it was like a dog loving its owner blindly. Melisa could shit in her hands and clap and Nine would lose his mind over ts, not because of who she is, but rather one action of kindness.

The more Yuri got to know Melisa, they more she liked her due to how different she was from everyone else in her life. Her affection for Melisa grew with the time the spent together and as Yuri got to know Melisa, she fell for all the aspects that made her the woman she is. The relationship between the two of them felt much more authentic and genuine while Nine was hers to begin with simply because she saved him, it was overly cliche.

While yes Melisa also saves Yuri, it was treated more as a moment that solidified Yuri’s love for Melisa. Yuri’s interest in Melisa as a person had been steadily increasing with the time they spent together, and her saving her was the moment she knew she fell head over heels. Meanwhile Nine gets saved by Melisa and is immediately like “even if you poisoned me I’d drink it because you gave it to me” like sir bffr… it just wasn’t giving

Sócrates died due to people not liking what he was saying, didn’t stop him from being one of the greatest philosophers of all time. I will continue to speak the truth
