He’s not a bad person, he’s just a terrible narrator. Blondie actually went out of his way to be nice to Brunette, like he approached him first, kept trying even when Brunette was closed off, and helped him open up. That’s not something a “bad” person does.
The problem is how he thinks. He’s egoistic, and very delusional, and his perspective makes everything sound worse than it is. But that’s in his head. He hasn’t actually done anything harmful to Brunette, so calling him a bad person just feels like a stretch.
You can say he’s pathetic or messy, sure. But evil? No. That doesn’t match his actions.
