Yeah the core of the issue w/ s5 I think is that the characters went from point A to point B but we didn't see the journey so instead of continuing their character development it feels Out Of Character.
The drastic tonal shift doesn't help. Because prior to the start of s5 there wasn't much interpersonal drama between the main characters. It was mostly characters outside of the relationship that was making the drama. There were no signs that Heobom was unhappy. The sudden shift is just weird and feels like the author doesn't really care for the story they are writing either.

Honestly I wouldn’t have minded the whole change of story if it was written more slow paced and was more realistic as people do tend to separate over time. That way this all fluff manwha would leave a bittersweet taste for longer in our minds.
Also I know it’ll prolly be a misunderstanding or sth he was forced upon (breaking up) and not his actual decision so yeah a dumb plot with potential but bad executed for more quick and cheap angst.
