Is this necessary

Do we actually need that long of a backstory what happened?
It could have been done much shorter, and we still have felt the impact, and got enough info. There already have been some hints about MC so we don't really need it to be this long.

Or is this just another trick for Korean companies to sell more chapters? Usually dragging happens more in popular Josei stories, while BL stories just drag smut so much that even many of the horny people start to get bored.

It's SAMK who is overrated so they have to milk it.
Of course part of the worse writing in SAMK's work could be that publisher said it needs to be different - or manhwas especially started milking it, so they changed stuff in many stories. But overall they basically have only one fully well written story, other ones just have some good parts.

Oooh, disagree! I thought Regas (the novel) was fairly well written, all loose ends closed and the MC was an active participant in the final arc. Payback (the novel) I found even better than the manhwa, as well! Which of their stories did you consider the good one? I will say, I think the romance in SamK novels is one of the weaker parts. I like the story and characters more than the coupling.

Chepali on the other hand, that’s someone who can’t get to the point! If it’s a chepali work I’m running in the opposite direction

Payback was the good one that had keep the constant tone of MC's mindset and never sure will he end up killing himself.
At the end ML's behavior fall from the cliff a bit too much and didn't make sense even in any madness, but it was a small thing and no story is perfect. It was well done that author could keep the mental tone and tension for so long.
Of course, it helped that main characters didn't constantly fuck like rabbits in the heat and there was actually mostly smut that was meaningful for the plot.

Many other SAMK stories just have well written moments, but are all over the places. Or take too long with something so you kinda get bored, and it doesn't feel that interesting anymore.

I haven't read Chepali too much, but overall Moscareto to me have more balanced and good stories (not all of them) than SAMK. It feels like SAMK is trying to go for epic, but misses way more than hits while Moscareto doesn't try too hard.

But honestly I haven't read everything, and something I have read as novel and some just as manhwa - and like I said, manhwa might change the original a lot depending on the publisher - so I don't have perfect information of everything.

Just to me, for a while, SAMK name brand carries more of the good ratings than actually many of the ratings being realistic. And I'm saying this while to me many of SAMK's ideas are more interesting to me than Moscaretos - but the ideas or more interesting genre doesn't always be same as better writing.

Mostly this is just opinion from limited materials... I read so much, like every day at least 4 hours, sometimes 8 hours a day or more time spend on comics and web novels that I don't have time to look everything made by one person. My reading lists what I have read and reading hit hundreds while ago and what is waiting to be read is thousands - so I can't get stuck too long. Or idolize one person when there are so many good ones.
