Only delusional fans of toxic BL think this crap is good, but I don't know why you think only those kinds of people hate this manhwa. I hate it, and I hate toxic yaoi and yuri too, and the fact that people aren't perfect... well, they aren’t, because if you’re defending this crap like this, it’s a perfect example of that, and as for the toxicity and stupidity (because the main character has no sense), it just spills over into areas where you can’t accept it at all this art style is just wasted on such a sick story (and there are worse manhwas out there, which doesn’t make this one suddenly better because of it)
My initial sentence was more of a joke, pointing out how many people would be hating on this to be toxic and whatnot but enjoy other stuff that's even worse. If you're not one of those people, good for you. And just for the record, I prefer my manhwas and mangas fluffy and as drama free as possible, though I am guilty of enjoying the occasional toxicity and drama...
I do not deny this manhwa is toxic, but the difference between this and usual toxic BLs is that this manhwa is not glossing it over and the FL is not blind to the bad treatment she gets.
At first I also didn't get why Leila is not fighting the unfair treatment or abuse, but the fact is she can't, and she is well aware of that. She is not living in a modern era where she could get justice. She is very much limited in what she can do and she knows it.
We could debate on and on and disect the characters so much we could write a whole ass uni level essay.
But because I'm limited in how much I can write, let me say this:
If you're looking at this through the modern lenses you're naive. You should also be aware that the rules and morals of modern society do not always apply to every piece literature. But alas, you're allowed to hate it for any and no reason at all...

Yk this story is in the different genre than BL right? This story novel rating is 15+ and uploaded in webtoon whose age restric is a joke. At least those BLs you said didnt aim to teenagers. This story cant even get compare with other straight dark romance bcs this story romantize abuse than work around it

Seriously tho, I don't get why people hate on this. The art is amazing and the story well written. The characters are not perfect and the story is toxic/dark because guess what, people are not perfect and the life is not full of sunshine and rainbows. This story portraits the thinking of the era of class difference pretty well I think. And the abuse, toxicity and bigotry is milder than some Reddit stories... or half the BLs you find...
