Very beginning may annoy you a bit due to a misunderstanding between ML and FL, and the ML treats her a bit bad because of it. You can turn your brain off, although there's some political drama between the ML, the prince, and the Emperor, nothing too convoluted to understand. Straightforward "I don't like you because I'm scared you will overtake the throne" type drama. Misunderstanding from the ML gets slightly resolved pretty quick, he realises FL might of been set up so he becomes nicer to her and the story gets better with FL trying to become more confident and ML supporting her. This part was nice to read, cliche but cute. Then suddenly.. the author decided the story needed more misunderstandings, and the main couple are currently acting super weird with each other. Story went from taking slow steps forward to just taking a massive fall backwards. If you like misunderstandings and a lack of clear communication between the main couple, you will enjoy the current arc. Otherwise, I read up to around chapter 30ish and took a break because the misunderstandings felt forced at that point and kept stacking up. Story is pretty simple to understand though, and similar to you, I read it because sometimes I want to read something stupidly straightforward or stupidly cliche, which I enjoyed this. I just don't like romances where they use multiple misunderstandings, I can handle one or two that slowly get dealt with, but that many and nothing is being done to actively stop it is... oh, my blood pressure is high.

Once in a while I love cliche manhwas where you have to turn your brain cells off. I want to read this so bad but seeing it have an 8.6 will make me soooo biased. I wish this was in webtoon, so i can read it without knowing it’s stupid. Can someone tell me they enjoyed it lmao?
