yeah when I read for the first time I thought the MC was some kind of vigilante that killed others to avenge the innocence but he’s definitely doing it for his own benefits I’m also leaning towards the idea that he is a psychopath and had something to do with the death of this so called friend of his must be be something major since he so badly wants to rectify it in order to get to heaven.
