Yeah the only questionable action was the one he took. He fell in love with rina but then assult the girl that actually could make Rinas engagement be annuled safely. It would be wonderful if hes still alive and actually working together with Rina because hes the catalyst of everything.
Though his legs were shown dangling in the panels, I wonder if that "male student" is really dead. His entire existence (regardless of him dead or alive) screams "elephant in the room".
