I can’t tell if Ain actually likes Michel or not. I feel like he’s getting swept away by his own game but then he says that last thing in the last chapter and… now it feels like Ain is just trying to resolve some childhood trauma. Like what would make his mother want to conceive him even if his father (Michel’s dad) is already married to another and how the South talks about fidelity. He’s trying to put himself in his mother’s shoes. Great. But what about Michel????? The man loves you already. That dream feels more real now. My verdict is, Michel defied Ain’s expectations but he’s still too stubborn to see that Michel isn’t like his father. Ain didn’t think this through and it’s gonna backfire at him so hard. I feel like Michel won’t be happy with being lied to but he’ll feel at least some relief that he’ll still be marrying Ain (Duke Shelleg).
