Wait, how the hell would you react if someone you like/love gets stabbed? Nonchalant?

Imagine the love of your life getting stabbed. Or your mom, dad, brother, or sister. How would you react?

It is definitely but I think it’s the right storyline for JJK to truly realize what Kim Dan means to him

I think they're talking about the scale of the turn of events. It's telenovela level of drama.

Sorry yall, to clarify I don't think the stabbing was a necessary story beat, it doesn't add much to the tension behind the match and I don't feel particularly worried about kim dan actually dying. i also thought the way it occurs is pretty contrived. What a coincidence that the doctor who assaulted kim dan also has debt tied to JJKs extremely evil rival. (I also think the rival is too evil it just feels unrealistic). I think JJK already knew how much kim dan means to him, this is just another obstacle to prolong their confessing to each other and its seems a little over the top. JJK will use his anger as motivation to win the fight but i feel like he could've just won it anyway with his motivation being the belief in himself/letting go of the shame of his past plotline they were building up before which would've been actual character growth.

also of course i would be upset if a person i cared about got stabbed? i personally would not give a fuck about the match at that point

I disagree with JJK already knowing how much Kim Dan means to him i think he’s been learning for the past few months but his understanding of it and love are still very elementary in forming. Bro went from abusing him to not knowing how to treat him and speaking rudely but caring more for him through actions to realizing and being a schoolboy about it but true deep love he is still learning and I do think this accelerates it and cements it so it’s a very necessary plot point. Have you ever seen JJK make a face like that? Prob first time in his life literally. I do think it’s cheesy plot wise but this story was never award winning in unique quality so it matches in terms of quality of writing. And actually I do think his rival being that evil is possible in the real world large sums of money attract evil. Esp compared to the awful things that go on in reality this is a more normal level of evil we have heard of in society

This I agree on I think JJK is only doing it based on Kim Dan’s dying wish for him not to forfeit the match. But if he was a more empathetic person he wouldn’t go through with it but who knows maybe he also really wants revenge as that’s the only way he knows how to care for others is through violence
