Tbh, when it comes to adaptations, especially just in general. They will remove a lot of details from a novel in order for it to work.
Plus we are still in MC’s pov. ML’s pov comes much later. I’d say it’s a story to let marinate for a while before reading it again.
Their chemistry is much more laid out and detailed in the novel version. Though don’t ask for the link cause I ain’t got one.
