I'm not a fan of the franchise, I played DMC5 and Dante to me was such an annoying character that I could only really look forward to seeing V (Nero too) and what his deal was, and this was so good. I know it's a game that focuses a lot more on the fights, but god it could easily be a game I'd tear up in if it went into the characters like the mangas do. In the game, as soon as V was born, he already had the nightmare markings on him, and you can't see the other nightmares coming out of the body with him. Reading this, and learning about his relationship to the nightmares (also the fact we could have had a 4th one?) was so thrilling to me. Understanding more of his design through this was so interesting, from the way he got his clothes (and chose to wear the accessories) to the reasoning behind his marks and their disappearance as the nightmares pop out of his body, and finally making sense of why he had dark hair that in game only turns to white when he ults, I was really excited getting to know more about V and his understanding of "himself" and humanity. He feels so artistic, this was such a short manga considering everything but it encapsulated a lot.
