Okay so some of yall seem to be incredibly confused as to what is even going on and where this plot is going.

Let's start with the Gods and the story Lord Russel collects.

The Tithonus Journal.

So basically, from what I understood, Tithonus is a human who fell in love with a god and fell into a bargain with an Evil god that would cost his life when all he wanted was to live long so he could gaze at his love and not pursue it.

There weren't any given names of said god. But I believe her to be "Bethia". And logically thinking Tithonus is Mary. He/she lived a long life and when our Beth didn't say she hated him/her, Mary felt touched and I assume felt at peace and thus just like the duke explained turned into an animal which is the butterfly that keeps following Beth.

Now this theory has holes. As we need to connect some relationship.

First of all, the Duke and Fitz. When Beth walked down some mysterious stairs within a wardrobe and suddenly ended up in the past she encountered the Duke but...younger?(Also Fitz seemed same age as Bethia although she returned to the past, most likely because of all the magic energy thst accumulates within him making him unable to age and grow tired) But now the thing is when she asked about Fitz his son he didn't know of said son. When she mentioned his name he only then said my "son" but not actually meaning it.

We also know of Fitz and Bethia being a mythical story of love and so on. Beth saying her name made the duke immediately let her meet Fitz.

The Duke said and I quote: "Did you know my son's name, Fitz, was named after a god by the same name?" In this story "Fitz"(the god) had a mortal lover named Bethia.

But this story doesn't really align with the Tithonus journal story that inclines that the god Titonhus speaks of is Bethia. Tough mortal Bethia and goddess Bethia could be two different people.

Now, I know I've said Tithonus = Mary. But with the recent chapter where we find out about Fitz, supposed curse which also fits wirh the evil god, who bargained with Tithonus for eternal life so they could watch over their beloved god, who dissappeard and instead Tithonus suffered from the bargain and the eternal life he was promised wasn't promised for his body as well, there are these things to take into consideration. So he was rotting. Now, Fitz's curse could be connected to that since we saw his heart purple-ish and he was coughing up blood.

We also have to take the Royal family who we nothing about and Beth's parents in mind. The sacrifices to the evil god and also Beth's parents abandoning her, leaving her with nothing but one of the Tithanus journals. She gets adopted by a horrible family.

Well....most importantly Beth. She's a reincarnatee and has strange "dreams" where there's this woman who warns her about something but cannot tell her exactly what it is. Then there's this book with ancient words that Beth can't read. Overall I'm honestly assuming that this "person" is either herself from her past life. The goddess Bethia, both, or the mortal Bethia.

We also see time travel is possible as well and Fitz has seen "Beth" in the past as well. Even has a portrait of her.

This story will probably not explain anything until later chapters. The question marks only grow. Even with what I wrote more questions could arise.

Lemme summarize my "theory":

Beth has 5 different "roles":

1. The Goddes Bethia from the Tithonus journal
2. Her past life
3. The Dream woman
4. Mortal Bethia
5. Portrait Bethia

Mary. Fitz. Tithonus.

These three are all tied to the story with the Evil god who does Bargains —> also connected to the prince Kellen.

Mary —> Tithonus? The Butterfly? Fitz?(unlikely)
Fitz —> Tithonus?(The curse)
Tithonus —> Mary, Fitz? The Butterfly...?

The Prince Kellen —> his sacrifices to the Evil god and where he did those deeds.

The Temple, the lake —> tied to Beth's parents(Troy family?)

The Duke Russel and his son Fitz? What's the connection? Is he really his son? AND BIGGEST QUESTION YET: What about the "2nd son"?

And why does Duke Russel obsess so much over the gods? Especially collecting Tithonus Journals.

I hope this clears some bits and parts up and will let you enjoy the story more! It's a chaos and the story began straight away with no direct opening. Basically it's all up to us to figure out what's going on within the story.

I also kinda wished there would be more clear answers but this is all.

If I said anything wrong PLEASE CORRECT ME!! I also want to figure this out myself so any help is welcome:)
