I have to say even tho it’s short this is a 10/10, it’s very well written and doesn’t need mass amount of text to tell Moris story. The art is absolutely beautiful in every panel which helps the over all world building. It was a very emotional read and I hope we get to see more glimpses of Mori as he grows.
What I really want to talk about is what constitutes in being a mother. All the characters have shown what it means to be a real mother, sure they aren’t human but that doesn’t mean they can’t be maternal beings. Being ready to sacrifice, forsake and place themselves in danger to ensure their child’s wellbeing isn’t easy but it’s something moms are capable of doing for their children. Having doubts, worries and anxieties over whether or not what they think is best for Mori is already a sign of being a parent/mom. Whether it’s first time moms or experienced moms I’m sure they always worry if what they are doing is the right way in raising their child. Being a mom is scary, it’s a hard and thankless job sometimes but at the end of the day if their child (Mori) is happy, safe and healthy I think it’s a reassuring thing. What I think constitutes in being a “good” mom is exactly what Mori showed in his drawings, he doesn’t need to say words to show just how much his moms mean to him and that they are all he’s has been looking for, a mom.
If you agree or not I don’t mind I just thought I’d give my thoughts cause I have a lot, honestly I can keep rambling but for now I’ll just leave it at that! (▰˘◡˘▰)
