The writing/translation & characterization is really lacking in sophistication. Could’ve been way more angsty and the darker themes it touches on is done really shallowly (child neglect, age-gap relationship, creative insecurity, reincarnation, profound loss). In the hands of a more competent writer, this had the potential to be a masterpiece based on the premise.
Ah, well at least the art is gorgeous.
