Considering the plot, The ML and MC should be together. And I don't know if we interpreted the story differently, but there was no manipulation there. There were anger outbursts but I didn't see where Jeongwu manipulated Gyu-hwa.

Option 1: Absolutely saint loves mc treats them well dotes on them is just perfect greenest of green flags a walking angel
Option 2: horrible option mistreats mc yells at them argues fights manipulates them
Then ofc they pick option 2 bc why not
