i think this definitely wouldve benefited from a little backstory and a little more look into their thoughts. to me it kinda seemed like shouma(?) had a crush on yuki since they were in highschool and yuki started liking him pretty short into them moving together but didnt realize it until he took some time away but the manga didnt really convey their feelings
