I had such good memories about this series from when I was younger, but rereading it now that I'm past 30 I can't help but feel really irritated at some of the dynamics here... Why is Risa always in the one taking blame or putting herself down? Otani might be a great best friend, but he sucks as a boyfriend. He's always the first to insult or accuse his girlfriend, he acts jealous and prickly. When Risa gets caught up into the Kohori kun thing, she's accused by everyone of cheating when she just wanted to be a food friend. But when Otani gets tangled with the older lady, Risa is the fist one that believes that the fault lies in the other woman and Otani is just being swindled. How is this fair? It's so upsetting to see Risa always be the one in the wrong, while nobody seriously scolds Otani for being a little jerk. And I'm not buying the argument "they're stupid teenagers", they're not 13, they're almost college students.
