I think its the uke's upbringing that's why he can't understand the top, also the top might said that he likes the uke, but he added the "its the first someone treated me like this" that why the uke thought what the top feels is just a bit insincere
Mc has severe lack of self esteem(because he's a recessive omega that's pretty masculine compared to typical omegas and several other issues) so he doesn't understand why ml would care about him
Hear me out, the top already said that he is interested to the uke and clearly they even pointed it out. How come the uke say something insensitive like that? Oml the characters is not written well.
