I thought the same! Like a contractual relationship or something. Since we now know it was his first, and the vlog stills we see he doesn’t ever look happy.. and he keeps mentioning things like he doesn’t understand the choices he was making, and why he changed in the 5 years… so much to unpack
I have a feeling the ml and ex gfs relationship wasn't that solid. There's that moment when she gets worried that he's suddenly regained his memories. Maybe they were on the rocks or it was more casual/for YouTube. She also clearly liked him due to the social capital he brought with him being good looking. I'm super curious to see what happens when/if his memories return. I imagine it will happen when ml and mc are nearly together but clearly in love then we'll get some angst for 2 to 3 chapters and the reveal.
