I don’t think the ending is bad or rushed. He cannot live without her, but he also cannot kill her. She also cannot kill him (as seen with the bug and stone). So it makes sense that the only option for him is to kill himself.
The ending also doesn’t feel rushed to me. Like yes I would’ve preferred it to be longer of course. But the story feels rounded. I feel like if the story was continued, it would’ve been too long and dragged out. All the storylines are finished for the characters, the ending makes sense for them. The pacing was good in my opinion.
I did see a comment about that the first part feels like it’s been written by a ghostwriter, and I really do see where that person comes from. The pacing and storytelling felt different. Maybe it is my memory tho because it’s been a year ago since I started this. So a reread would help me to conclude my thoughts and opinions.
