for a story that earlier seemed to be defying cliche tropes and stereotypes, this picturesque ending is a little disappointing. what i don't get is why was there all that imagery about MC killing the praying mantis and insect metaphors, when in the end she didn't kill him because "she's human" ? i guess you could argue that that IS the point. she proved she was fundamentally different from him since she chose not to act on her primal desires. she admitted to the detective that she WANTED to kill someone, but chose humanity above it. i personally find that a little lame, does somebody who stole the humanity of you and multiple other people still deserve to have their humanity intact? it's a moral debate at the end of the day. if anyone has any other cool interpretations please feel free to yap!
