Finished the novel and couple days ago, this is such a fluffy story. There is a lot of communication issues and false assumptions, but it mostly boils down to the MC just being really socially inept. The ML is a whole green flag forest, and honestly if you are inclined read the novel instead of or in addition to because so much nuance is cut out here.
Well..... Not a full green flag. Lets not forget that MC was heavily drunk (blacked-out maybe?) When the sober ML took him away. Coolcat2749
He wasn't black out drunk though, he doesnt remember the night because he went into heat. From ML perspective MC was willing and consenting. There really is a lot of detail missing from the novel

From MLS perspective, MC was heavily drunk and ML was sober(I have not read the novel to see if readers are told that ML had also been drinking). But unless ML was also drinking it cannot be consensual.
