it actually makes a lot of sense from a psychological standpoint - there really is not relationship between them, not a healthy one. they do have time and closeness together, and a relationship that has been relatively stable for a long time in comparison to abusive relationships for JH, and the same for KD. Dan had his grandmother, but no one else to care for him. JH has given him a stable living situation and income which in turn has helped his grandmother with medication to live, and JH is also a part of his life with his grandmother. Despite their relationship being primarily physical or work related, there is no romance - but the stability and familiarity may feel like it to both. KD had never had positive sexual experiences untill JH, and that can breed feelings of closeness - then JH who has the attraction towards KD (because he's kim dan come on... a literal catch). to me, looking at their psychological profiles, their interactions and relationship makes a LOT of sense... i think they are acting pretty normal, now. JH may not have considered that KD could leave because he had owned him like a pet due to the financial advantage he has over him. KD being taken so suddenly against his plans would obviously bring a lot of negative feelings, that this person he took advantage of for so long can and will leave, it should bring feelings of reflection and a goal to treat those he knows better, id hope. He's significantly closer to KD, so these conflicting feelings due to the nature of their undetermined relationship makes so much sense (sorry for yammering so much this is just my perspective if I were their relationship therapist LMFAO)

The pacing you set at the beginning of a story is ultimately the one you have to follow through with.
That means across all arcs and points, all the way to the end. If you suddenly jump the gun at a turning point, the story loses depth and texture, and that’s why we see these exaggerated reactions from Jaekyung right now. There are not enough ‘meaningful reasons’ for him to be scared for Kim Dan. Specifically because it’s not been built properly.
At one point; the story started acting more like a series of events, instead of a story with any groundwork for realistic characterization, which is what we ALL want.
Yes, there are other issues with this Manhwa, but this was my TED talk for today. Lmao have a good evening.
