Ah camping here. I know Hate Mate is not similar but they kind of share the same vibes. Thou in Hate Mate mc didn't end up with his first love. I read a comment here where they explain the characters situation so well. I read spoilers and it didn't ruin the fun for me. I'm in for morally grey characters. It's sad they experience homophobia and work culture will took a toll to your mental health. So characters here can't help acting the way they treat each other and there's not a quick fix because love is not enough. So mc and ml are coindependent and mc is tough he's not weak because of his heart condition but I wonder if you eliminate that factor and other struggles like past trauma I think he got SA. Will he gave chance to other people but I also doubt because his attachment to ml is strong like he sees something to ml. As for the ml he have insecurities and is like hypersexual plus his work place is not good to him. I've read ml is not emotionally cheating but still cheating since the mc just blurt it to find other lover when they fought so he didn't really mean it.
Ml want to be the provider like traditional family so he wants mc to be dependent of him. He really wants mc's attention and add he doesn't have friends or someone to talk aside from getting physical with others so his self esteem is kind of low. I don't know thou why therapy is not like an option is it like because mc or ml have stigma around mental health or their financial situation is not stable so it's not a priority, I'm not sure if it's just therapy is expensive in SK. Why ml have to punch or slap mc when jealous and have rough sex if I were mc that's where you cross the line but I like how the author didn't make the mc submissive despite that and you don't see anything is romanticize. I want to say again these couple need therapy whenever they are toxic to each other. But I also get that if no one will introduce to you about mental health related solution it won't cross your mind. I think this type of story have bitter sweet ending
