seen someone say its rushed but its literally about time and it makes sense in a realistic scenario, he thinks dan is dying so hes gonna confess and apologize?? its not like hes saying it to his face, so the confession still didnt actually happen. (so far. since for all we know dan couldve been awake for the confession)
