For me, it was not individual bad chapters, but the message the author was spreading. When MC started drugging + spreading an addiction among the (mainly) lower class demons, i ragequit. What she consistently does to demons mirrors acts of racism or harm words vulnerable people in the real world. And as a shoujo, they feel justified in brushing over how she copies the way powerful people use capitalism against marginalized groups. Her actions repeatedly target the people below in order to shake up those above with no care or worries for her victims. Everything is applauded under the pretext of: “well, they’re demons. demons bad. demons make husband hide handsome face :c” But as far as i know, there are demons who have not stepped out of the realm and harmed people, simply because there is no reason for them to. And yet that idea is never bright up (before i dropped it). I hate how we have to applaud mass drugging a population. An undisclosed addictive substance given to the masses as a means to control them. (Girlboss much??) What we read influences the way we think. So when i see acts of violence against a specific race because they are accepted as evil, i get the ick cuz it just feels like a story whose main form of gratification is “justified” racism.
I've seen that in most Korean manhwas, esp in the western historicals they pump out, there's always this undercurrent of money worship, racism, glorifying capitalism and lookism, despising the use of narcotics & drugs, a weird mix of patriarchy and feminism?? Because no matter how strong the FLs are, they never escape the patriarchal ways of society. Also, the fixation on children which mirrors their concerning low birth rate lol. Literature mirrors society so.. Anyway, yes, I dropped this one BCOS of the racism! I've dropped many for racism and lookism as well, especially the fixation on whiteness & fairness. It's just gross!
Idk but many people dropped this, but for me there was no single bad chapters for me, its my opinion though
