I find the dub con trope equally as off putting as you but as a piece of fantastical fiction I do understand why some authors employ it (this is not me agreeing with non consensual acts). It’s a device that is used (particularly in BL) to explore fantasy and taboo scenarios within fictional space for some readers who (due to cultural norms, taboo, etc) may not be able to “agree” with the scenario that is happening so the act being forced takes away the need for an affirmative yes… ergo they just get to “enjoy”. There are also a list of other reasons why an author would chose to write something like this (it’s super easy to google) so it will help you to understand why some readers enjoy this type of content in fiction - it does not automatically mean they approve of sexual assault.
I personally hate this trope and find consent to be v sexy. I think the dub con detracted from this story. I did however enjoy when the characters exchanged heated quips with each other and don’t believe the ML was using the term “slut” as a slur.

read until ch. 24 and i had to force myself in hopes it would get better. The smut is forced. Not in the traumatic depiction of SA way, but in a persuaded into doing it way, which is still SA. If you nag someone long enough into saying Yes, no matter if it felt good in the end, thats SA. (You should google/research Consent is FRIES or Consent is CRISP)
The MC (Hyuno) is more a tsundere type of guy, which is already not my cup of tea, but the ML (Dojin) manipulating his way into getting what he wants was crazy off putting. He lied and he cried and he acted so immature, called Hyuno a slut and similar things just for having more experience. I don't get, how this has such a good rating.
Sure, i get that there is suspension of disbelief, but i just wasn't able to apply that here and turn my brain off. I can't even enjoy the smut, if the MC is embarressed with everything they do. No prep, no lube is srsly un-hot (their 1st time) and speaking of! The premise of being so blackout drunk, that you force yourself onto someone and no one seeing an issue there??? Even if the MC admitted to liking it in the end, he didn't want to do it, he struggled against the ML, said no multiple times and this gets excused no questions asked??? This was more unpleasent than the rest mid, boring, forgettable stuff i read recently. I'm beginning to regret trying new stuff instead of reading the same storys i know i like over and over again.
