The Manhua's art style is beautiful, and the romance is easier to digest. Meanwhile, the C-Drama's storytelling is REALLY good, it expands more on the characters, their jobs, and other dynamics other than the main couple. Although the second-hand embarrassment from the FL was really really REALLY hard to digest, made me understand why the ML was constantly pushing her away at the start. I preferred the manhua's Qin Shiyue (the niece of Shi Yan) over the drama, she was a bit too spoiled and unbearable there, always whining and wanting to waste money, hardly productive while here.. is was a lot tamer/softer. Wish the story would explain why Qin Luezhi was all for taking Shuyi's man AND trying to rub it in. Maybe the novel explains it, I haven't read it, but I hope they do give some reason for it, like how the drama explained why Xu Yuling copied Shuyi and stole her interview. (Work place rivalry/comparsions and an opportunity in her career made her envious, doesn't justify what she did, but at least we know why she does it. The white lotus doesn't make that much sense because she basically basks in this lie that her uncle is Shi Yan to steal Shuyi's boyfriend and even after succeeding, she's still obsessed enough to try to rub it in, like you won?? Did you used to know MC, or did you just hate this random woman that much? Focus on succeeding in your lie rather then the ex-girlfriend??? I guessed it's likely jealously, she probably noticed MC was pretty, had a good job and a boyfriend so she was trying to feel better about herself by taking her man and lying about her family background so others would envy her) I do recommend the C-Drama if you want more plot and drama heavy, and if you want mostly comedy and romance, I'd suggest the manhua. Manhua does cut down or simplifies a lot of the events in the C-Drama. I will have to read the novel at some point.
