Long before he got married, he had already made up his mind that he would protect and take care of his wife no matter what. That's simply the kind of husband he is. Of course, he misunderstood his own feelings at first, but thanks to certain characters, we eventually got to understand Noah better.
More than being obsessed with ML, it's his intense overprotectiveness that truly stands out. Other characters had to endure the stress from it too, lol.. and naturally, that kind of behavior was bound to backfire at some point. Some characters even suspected he was secretly yearning for her, only to dismiss the idea… but, well, they were right.
So no, Noah isn't just an obsessed man. He's a deeply protective, emotionally repressed yearner who loves far more intensely than he realizes. A man ruled by love disguised as duty.
As for Olivia's magic dome recognition, that comes much later near the end, when she finally decides to fight for her rights.
