My interpretation is like, the game is like the purgatory or something. 1, 2 or all of them could die if they gave up all together. Bada being an npc isn't really complicated cus it may be just that the role was given to him. He's introduced as npc cus he's not even supposed to go with them.
Love the story over all but it would have added a thrill if when Bada disappear, they could have showed what Doha's reaction was. Like gave it another chapter. And when they went back, Bada shouldn't have confessed but got confused why he's the only who remembers. Then go for a side story where Bada approach Doha and so on. But I'm not the author whatsoever.
