I think the author is a little pedophilic because everyone treats the mc like a child and is also constantly mistaken as a child. I would like to say he looks like a college student but literally in the newest chapter an employee asked if he was calling his parents, which I dont think someone would ask if they thought a person was 18+. But this is all my opinion, I just sticking around because the mc isnt being a love sick fool.
When it's saying "things kids like to eat these days" it's speaking of young adults since things like Malatang and dubai chewy cookies etc are popular in korea right now amongst college age adults. I do not actually believe they mean literal kid, however in mafia related things I often notice they call the younger recruits "kid" and assert age when referring to rank
