I think the original purpose for the count bringing in Yuri as an heir was to later have them be as close and compatible with Nox. Raising them together would give time for them to know eachother more and eventually become a pair. It works out because the family gets an heir while still keeping the original bloodline because Yuri married Nox and if they have a kid it will be the next count.
