no it’s more like he kept spending money to feed the kid bc he’s a kind soul and hates seeing anyone starve and that’s when the feeling of something being very wrong sinks in bc he’s basically eating like 2 adults (much more than mc can eat). but i do love how creepy it is already when the part timer couldn’t see the kid at all but the mc ignored it (more like it passed over his head)

i only caught on because i read slow and have read other manhwas with very similar themes (the supernatural vibes were calling). also the mtl is bad so it’s easy to miss things! it’s hinted in two instances: the part timer was worried about the mc for being jumped by cats and then her ofc u wouldn’t be full with just a rice ball. im so excited i can’t wait for more (hopefully the licensed eng version will be out soon)
