Despite what people say about this manhwa, I still really like it. One thing others criticize is the love triangle bait. Sone really excpected this, but got disappointed. Then there’s the pseudo-incest element, which adds to the draw. But the incest between the emperor and his younger sis, I think she was forced. Some cultures are like that too. In some other countries. But it's their story to tell.
The transitions between chapters can be a bit confusing if you aren’t following closely, and the flashbacks are definitely poorly executed. It’s hard to tell if you’re looking at the present or the past, or discern what timeline they are in, or even if the character is Lai or Ellen. Also the inconsistencies. There are also some unaswered questions, like what happened to the emeperor and the marquis. I just hoped they died in a painful way. What about the necklace, or the royal treasure? Who is the person with the prince mother? Was it the knight she used to love?
But plot-wise, I think it’s good; it really does justice to the direction the story is heading. Overall, it’s a great read
